What’s it all mean?
Possibly one of the best bronze passives, when the Monk is knocked out his teammates gain one bar of power. Great for getting an X-Ray attack charged up. Fists of Flurry is actually a grapple attack, so it is unblockable. It doesn’t hit for ridiculous damage but it’s a nice guaranteed hit. Shaolin Style has the Monk whip out his sword similar to Shirai Ryu or Lin Kuei’s special attack 2. It hits for decent damage considering it is a bronze level attack.

What’s good about him?
The Monk’s attack stat is relatively high for his tier and he has no real weak areas. You can’t really complain about an unblockable attack and he’s fairly fast. His passive skill can make him a game changer against boss fights where you would normally consider a bronze character worthless.

What’s the downside?
Other than being a bronze card, no real weaknesses. All of his attacks are good and his passive remains useful throughout the game. If I had to nitpick I’d say I wish his special attack 1 hit for more damage, but again, it’s unblockable so it’s understandable why it doesn’t do more damage.

Overall?
The Monk remains useful even after you acquire golds due to his passive. You may not use him all the time but it’s handy to keep him around. He’s not the strongest of bronze cards but he is about middle of the pack if not one of the better ones. I personally prefer Oni or Sergeant when stats matter. Otherwise it’s all about the sacrifice play with the Monk.
