Who will the next challenge be for Mortal Kombat X Mobile?

Well, the Raiden challenge is over and the question is, who is next?

My money is on Erron Black. Why? Because he’s confirmed to already exist in the code somewhere. Granted, all I know is from a 3rd party and it’s just a name that pops up looking through game files. It doesn’t mean everything is there for the character, but it’s the only name we don’t have currently on the roster.

Prior to that, the only other name in the files was Kung Lao, except he’s been released and in two different forms. Well, ignoring the fact they seem to have forgotten to actually include either version in the Kombat Pack.

The real question is, will they keep rotating challenges one after the other like Injustice and WWE Immortals or are there still enough problems that players will be on a forced break until another update?

Even then, IF Erron Black is coded already that still leaves just him and no one else available for challenges. Which means at best we’ll get his challenge and then Netherrealm will have to do another update for us to get further challenges. This is not unusual for the other games I mentioned, but update releases for MKX have been, well, inconsistent to say the least.

This is all pure speculation at this point. I am still eager to see who is next and despite how simple the last challenge was I will never pass up adding another character to my collection.

What’s it all mean?
When Raiden tags in, he’ll remove 20% of his opponents remaining health. I can’t stress how important a detail that is, since he’ll do very little damage to someone who is almost dead.

Electric Fly is the classic Raiden corkscrew towards his opponent maneuver and it’s quite effective. Heavenly Hands not only shocks for high damage but also drains power. When Raiden performs his X-Ray attack he’ll actually generate power!

What’s good about him?
Attack and health are quite high and Raiden is fast! I’m not sure he’s the fastest character in the game but he is up there. Combine that with hard hitting attacks and hard hitting specials and he’s the type of character I personally love. All offense. Plus, I’ll never be unhappy about a power draining attack, assuming the target survives the intense shock of Heavenly Hands. Once unlocked, Raiden can be purchased with Koins instead of souls.

What’s the downside?
His Toughness and Recovery stats are indeed correct. While his health may be high, Raiden takes almost the full brunt of attacks against him. I wanted to believe that maybe this was an error in his stats, but it appears correct as Raiden takes a lot of damage per hit.

Overall?
Despite his weak toughness and recovery stats, Raiden is hard not to love. He’s one of my favorite classic characters and I’m always up for someone better on offense than defense. His high speed really helps in bringing the pain, but you have to balance it out with not being able to let your opponent beat on you much. His specials hit for good damage and while it’s almost a shame you have to charge up the second special to do a power drain it almost doesn’t matter because of how effective he is unleashing his specials.
